This Family Desparately Needs Our Prayers and Support

If you read this post earlier today, you may have read my brief mention of being discouraged by someone close to me about my failures in what I love to do best (homemaking). I have decided to delete that so I don't cause any of my readers to be discouraged as well. Please forgive me for being grumpy. All will be well as I keep my eyes on the Lord and focus on pleasing Him.

Now, please take a look at this dear, beautiful family:

This family is having a very hard time right now and could possibly be in danger. Please go read about them to see how you can pray and help them.

As a fellow homemaker and Keeper of the Home, I would like to encourage you! I think all of us homemakers feel discouraged at times with what we are working towards, even by those close to us.

Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

"Any time we are in a difficult situation that requires us as an individual or as a family collectively to do something that is somewhat risky or difficult, to take a courageous stand, we‟re going to feel those things. We‟re going to feel fearful. There‟s going to be some anxiety level within that says, “Oh, I don‟t know if I really want to do this. Maybe I shouldn‟t stick my neck out.” Or we‟re going to be dismayed by the crowd who seem to be against us because we feel like we‟re the only one. So we‟re going to feel those two emotions: we‟re going to feel fear and we‟re going to feel dismay."

So we‟re going to feel those two emotions: we‟re going to feel fear and we‟re going to feel dismay. But what I love about Joshua 1 that I think is the key to being courageous is that God says “I want you to be courageous because I am with you.” So what God is
telling us is that “In any and all of these difficult situations that you will encounter in your
life, just remember, I am with you. No matter where you are, no matter how big it is, how hard it is, how difficult, I am still
with you. I haven‟t left you, I‟m not going to leave you, and so therefore you can be courageous.” -Barbara Rainey-

I'm not sure if you have ever listened to Family Life Today, but they have some wonderfully encouraging radio programs for Christian families. This particular one on courage encouraged me very much and it was the first thing that came to mind upon reading your post. We have been called by God to be homemakers and we will make mistakes, but God is with us and he will strengthen us!

May you find encouragement!
Sharon

As a homemaker and keeper of the home, I would like to encourage you! We will always be faced with those that have not been called in the same way that we have and they may discourage us for their own personal reasons usually.

Joshua 1:9 declares "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this encouraging note to me, Sharon. It is good to hear that instead of the negativity I so often deal with.

God bless you,
Mrs. Q
