Pulling Wires

Well I am back.  We've had internet; I just haven't had time to post.  We were not able to go to church on Sunday.  Our whole family has been sick, so I have been making lots of Double-E Immune Booster
and wiping away tears and comforting little children.  What a nasty cold!  I make a tea from the immune booster with honey, which soothes their throats and strengthens their immune systems.  Sometimes I add garlic to the water as it steeps to add extra immune-fighting power.  I really love the Double-E Immune Booster when we are sick, and so do the children.

Creative has ear infections in both ears.  She seems to get them almost every time she's sick.  After consulting a couple of experienced mommy friends of mine, I learned that garlic oil placed in the ears works well for ear infections.  I thought I would have to buy some, but one of my friends told me I could steep crushed garlic cloves in olive oil and then put that in Creative's ears.  That is what I did last night, and this morning her ears were feeling much better.  Hopefully she will be all better soon.

Saturday after Husband got off of work, I worked hard with him to help him rewire our phone lines.  It was quite interesting to see how new phone lines are put in walls, and I had to learn how to pull wires down through the outlets, along with help him pull wires up through the attic.  Sunday morning, since we couldn't go to church, Husband worked on finishing the job--connecting the new lines--and for awhile he could not get the phone to work.  Finally he got it to work in one end of our house, but still the other phone jack was not working.  He was not sure if he messed up some of the wiring, but after some troubleshooting discovered that it was just a bad phone jack (thankfully!)  Our house was completely upended for a couple of days, and after it was all done I had a big mess to clean up.  After it was all done, it was nice to get things back to "normal".  And thankfully, we now have a phone and internet that work!

Today I have to do our weekly shopping.  Hopefully the children will be all better soon so we can get back to school and everything else we need and love to do.

I hope you all are well.

  2. Mrs. Q,

Sounds like you've had some eventful things going-on in your home these days.

I'm sorry to hear that your family got sick though, ugh! It's no fun to be sick, and sore throats are the worst! I hope your children start feeling better soon.

I would be afraid to tamper with phone wires for fear of being executed. I know that sounds kind of silly, but that's just me. I'm glad the both of you were able to fix things.

    Take care dear Friend. :)

  3. Thank you, Mrs. Stam & Lady Rose. They are still sick!

Yes, I would not want to mess with the wires either, but my husband used to do this for work so knows what he's doing, thankfully.
