Enjoying the Day-by-Day

In a large family with many small children, with several school-age, the days can go by in such hurriedness you may feel like you don't really connect.  Some times we need a time out.  A time to just enjoy each other and the blessing of family life.

We had such a day today, for which I am thankful.  We watched a collection of short videos of when the children were younger.  We watched it over and over.  Somehow, the children and I do not tire of watching their younger, childlike antics again and again.  We giggled and mused over the cute things they did.  One of my older daughters put everyone's hair in pigtails (except for the baby and the boy), and I grinned at the silliness of my hair being in pigtails.  Of course, I had to grade math papers while we watched, but I am still thankful for our family time.

  1. We needed a break today, too. The kids did there schoolwork early today and played in the leaves all day pretending they were in the civil war.. using graham crackers as hard tack.

  3. Emily, it sounds like a very good day to me :-)
We also love watching the videos of our family days back when the boys were little.
They always enjoy seeing how silly and cute they were too, and reliving the fun of those days! At 24yrs old, my youngest still asks us to put it on when he has friends around :-)
Family - there's nothing like it lol!!
