Mother's Day Every Day

Since the beginning of April, our children have been busily working on Mother's Day presents for me.  I have received many gifts ahead of time, as I have been informed by my children that "Every day is Mother's Day", including picked flowers and an apron painted with puffy paint.  I have found out that my 10 year old daughter grew roots on a couple of mint cuttings and planted them in a pot to grow more mint plants for me.  My 7 year old daughter is growing me a sunflower that she sprouted from a seed.  There are many other things they have going on that I have had to be reminded repeatedly, "Don't look over here, Mom!"

I have received beautiful pictures cut out from magazines of flowers and other lovely things, and beautiful pictures with Scriptures the children have written, drawn, and colored.  The girls received some money from their grandparents and spent it all on some jewelry for me and some diapers for well...see below...
They were so excited to be able to help out and to get gifts for their Mama.

Our 10 year old went to the trouble of making homemade bread dough when she found a recipe to make some sweet treat from frozen bread dough, because she knows I do not use that.  She even soaked the dough for 12 hours in buttermilk like I do when I make bread.  Today she made blueberry pancakes from scratch so I would not have to cook breakfast for the children and I before church in the morning (though I still will for my husband).

How am I so blessed by my children?  I do not know.  For I know I am not a perfect mother, though I pray every day that the Lord will make me more like Him and help me to be a better mother.

Yes, children are blessings...I am so thankful I have been blessed with these...and one more on the way ♥

And in case I don't get to write tomorrow...Happy Mother's Day, to all the mother's in deed and in heart ♥

  2. You say that you are not a perfect mom, but obviously, your love shows through that "imperfection," for otherwise, I don't think your daughters would be creating and giving you all these blessed gifts! :) I hope that you had a nice Mother's Day, Mrs. Q! :)

    1. Thank you, Mara, it was made special by my children, and my parents who visited.

This may sound strange, but I think of you every Mother's Day since we've "met" ♥
