Wise Words from My Father

Watching Father Work

Yesterday I was going for a drive with my father.  I was about to face something that I feared, and something where the results were yet unknown.  I knew the Lord was on my side, but I still did not know what would happen.

As my dad followed the road, he related something to me he had been discussing with my mother:
"It really doesn't matter what happens in this life.  This life is really nothing.  What matters is where we spend eternity.  And what happens in this life is really to bring God glory.  We know from Romans 8:28 that He is working things out for our good because we love Him.  It may not be for what we see as good, but it is for our ultimate good."

I looked around at God's beautiful creation still tainted by sin as we passed by on the road.  And I knew he was right.  And I had peace.

God did show Himself glorious yesterday, and He did work for my good.  I know that.  I am so thankful for His power, love, and protection.

  1. Hello, I just wanted to tell you that your Blog header is way down from the top of its proper position. And it is out of sync and hard to scroll down. So leaving comments is hard to find the box. Maybe it is a freaky blog thing, but maybe you can try it and see if it shows up on yours.
    Pray your doing well!
Busy with wee ones I am sure!
    Blessings, Roxy

  3. Oops, not sure what just happened but everything I wrote disappeared!! If it appears can you please delete it:))

The Lord is always with us and he certain was on my trip to the doctor today, whilst I still struggled to remain calm (natural reaction sadly), through pray I got through it and I think it did reduce the stress I was having. On my home, I thanked the Lord for good results and getting me through something unpleasant. Quite right, nothing matters here but we still must be joyful :))

    1. It didn't appear! I'm glad you got good results, and yes, joy is a fruit of the Spirit and sure makes life more pleasant for us and those around us. I am so glad the Lord is always with us, like you said.

  4. Lydia wrote on 7/31/13: Excellent words from your Father! Right on! God is gracious and merciful to those who love Him and who walk in obedience to Him. Praising HIm for all He has, and will do! We walk by faith and not by sight, no matter the outcome, HE IS INCONTROL always! He knows best. Love you!
