Today for breakfast we're having baked applies in the crockpot. They are already ready, and I will just have to serve them after the baby finishes nursing. What is really great is that I didn't have to make them. My eldest daughter prepared them last night while I made some cornbread. It is great having a helper. But I wouldn't have one if I hadn't spent time with her when she was younger. Lots of time in weeks, months, years with her alongside me in the kitchen. Teaching her how to pour, measure, read a recipe, then later on cut and use the kitchen appliances. When she was younger she wasn't as much help, and it actually took me longer because I was teaching as I prepared our family's meals. I would have to wait as she helped pour in ingredients or stirred in her little girl way. But now she is a big help. She can cook entire meals by herself. And one day she is very much looking forward to being a wife and mommy and running her own household. I think she will do a good job. I feel so blessed to be able to prepare her to raise the next generation!
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. ~Galatians 6:9
