Perfect Peace

Bible

How are you, Dear Readers?  I have had a busy day out with many things to do and places to go with the children, and then Bible study at church.  When I finally got home, I had laundry to do, tea to make, and I still need to plan meals for the next couple of weeks so I can go shopping.  I also still need to plan a craft for the group of children I lead in a homeschool co-op, which is coming up soon.  We will be studying India this time, so I need a craft to go along with that.

Besides this, I have things on my mind, and I am reminded that we can often get worn down by our thoughts if we are not careful.   Instead of letting our thoughts run away with us, we need to take them captive, and also keep our minds on the Lord and His goodness.  This is really the only way we can have peace in our lives, as trials and temptations will come, we have been promised (John 16:33).  So, this verse has been brought to my mind:
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. (Isaiah 26:3)
Our Lord and Saviour is even our Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6-7).  Our Lord Jesus also said, "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." (John 14:27)  Also, in Philippians, we are reminded to "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

We also read in the Word of God many times when the Lord has helped His people because of their trust in Him and His goodness.  See for example 1 Chronicles 5:20, 2 Chronicles 13:18, and 2 Chronicles 16:8.  Some other good verses about trusting in the Lord are Psalm 9:10 which says,  "And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee."  Also, Jeremiah 17:7-8 "Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.  For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit."

I hope these are a good encouragement for you when your thoughts turn to worry.

  1. I bless my Elohim for this "reminder" today. I pray He blesses you immensely for as Proverbs 18:4 tells me, "The words of a man’s mouth are deep waters;
    the fountain of wisdom is a bubbling brook." These words you've been allowed to speak today have blessed my spirit-man, for on this day, I TRULY needed to be reminded of this. Be encouraged, and thank you for allowing Elohim to use you to minister to my spirit today.
