Encouragement

Sometimes we mamas have hard days, rough days, days that drain us emotionally and physically.  We have days we may wonder if what we do really matters, or if anybody sees us or notices us...

We may do lots (or all) of our homemaking tasks without a single thank you.  Especially as children get older, they seem to thank us less, need us less...Of course, we know that we must do what we need to do, for the Lord, whether anyone else appreciates it or not.  But, it is always nice to have someone express sincere love and appreciation for us.

I kind of had one of those days today--a day that was not so easy, and just tiring.

I had put the little children to bed a while ago, and finally the older ones had gone to bed also.  I was so tired, I had to force myself to prepare the food for the next day and take care of the last bits of laundry...I was tired and just felt so drained...

I retired to the bedroom and sat down and prayed silently to the Lord that I just needed some encouragement, anything!

It was only a few minutes later that a little note got pushed through the crack in the door...

I know that this lovely note of encouragement came from Creative, and I was so blessed that the Lord answered my prayer in this way that I began to cry.  How very thankful I am for the Lord being so kind to me, and for my daughter being so thoughtful.

  2. Thank you for sharing. I try to remember that the days are long, but the years are short. After all these years as a mommy, I still need encouragement. 😊

    1. How very true that statement is. The years just fly by. How we need to savor our time! I hope you can feel encouraged today, for a mother's work in the home is indeed worthy of honor.
