The Importance of Home

The Bird's Nest

"When we lost our understanding of the profound importance of home, we lost a lot. And only until we regain that understanding will we regain what has been lost. "Homes are the real schools in which men and women are trained, and fathers and mothers are the real teachers and builders of life." ~ J.R. Miller in The Family

  1. So true! I understand that not everyone can stay home or homeschool and it may nit be the right choice for everyone, but home has lost its importance in our society. It often is a place to sleep and nothing more. It is no longer an anchor for our families or a place to instill our values to our children.

  3. Hello, I just wanted to mention that I put on my blog the same clip of The truth about tattoos you had on your blog a ways back. It was kinda scary because so many people will not speak against these things.
I thought the vidio was really well done.
I appreciate your blog and its many words of encouragement!

  4. I do hope that some day soon, people will understand a lot of what is wrong in our world today is, to most people, there is no *home*. It's just a house filled with things instead of a family. It should be a family caring for one another and sharing God's word.

    1. Very true, Linda. Our world would be so much better if the home was valued for more than being just a house with "things". Our relationships are so much more important.

  5. I love my home and spending time in my home, its is our refuge from the world - our little space (my husband and I now that the children have left home) - its a very special place. I do think most people still see it that way, even none Christians.

  6. Definitely agree with the statement!!! Our homes are not just houses with lots of things we need. Our homes are our castles, places where we can be ourselves, where we can be happy and feel cozy. We should be grateful for having an opportunity to gather the whole family under one roof. And of course, we should keep our homes clean and tidy. ;)
