More Places for Printable Coupons
Hello Dears,
How have you been? I have been extra, super busy--so that's why there haven't been as many posts.
I wanted to share a couple of places where you can print some coupons that you may not know about. You probably know about coupons.com, or printing from Swagbucks (which also earns you points!), but there are some others.
You can print coupons for paper towels, toilet paper, feminine products, diapers, and more from http://www.pickupthevalues.com. You can also print Scott brand coupons from https://www.scottbrand.com. I know the latter will send you emails every so often with printable coupons, and they don't inundate you with too many emails.
I hope this helps, and enjoy!

Get Money Back from Walmart
I always price match when I shop at Walmart. The process is long, going through all the store ads for several different stores. But I find it is well worth it. The people in line behind me usually seem surprised when I tell the cashier a lower price for many of our items. (And sometimes, they might not like to wait for all the price-matching). A homemaker must save where she can.
I just learned of a new way to save at Walmart, and it is called Savings Catcher. Walmart will give you back money on a reward card if you purchased something at Walmart that was available for a lower price at a different store. You simply go here, enter a couple of pieces of information from your receipt, and you'll find out if you get any money back. The receipts need to be from the last 7 days, and you can enter a maximum of 7 receipts per week.
I hope this tip helps you a lot!

How to Save Money on Groceries (No Coupons Required)
If you've been following my blog for awhile, you probably know that I like to feed my family healthfully. I feel like eating foods that were made by God and not in a laboratory are what will give us the best health in life and make us best able to serve Him. But this can get expensive! Especially with the price of food going up, it gets harder a
nd harder to stay within budget. Even if you don't have any certain diet restrictions when you're shopping, I imagine it can be hard to not spend too much money.
That's why I am SO excited to learn about Grocery Savings Made Simple. It is a course that is going to be starting on September 2, 2014. This is the only time this year the course will be available, and it runs for four weeks. Here is a little bit about this course from the mom who created it, Shannon Brown:
Here is the best news. From now until August 26, 2014, this course is on sale. It normally costs $37, but the sale price is...Pay What You Can. Yes, you read that right. So I am definitely signing up and wanted to share with you, as I thought it might help you. You can go here to read more about Grocery Savings Made Simple and/or register. While the sale price lasts until 8/26, registration for this year's course will not close until 8/31.
I hope this course is a blessing to you.

- It guides moms through setting up a sustainable grocery savings system that works for their unique families' nutrition needs, including real food, gluten free, etc.
- Requires no coupons, store circulars, or weekly meal planning, so it continues working even during the busiest seasons of life.
- This is the system I have personally used to save thousands on my grocery budget even during the most difficult year of my life, so I know it works!

Consequences of Disorganization
If we are disorganized as homemakers, all kinds of things can happen...
With no schedule or routine, we do not accomplish as much during the day--we lose the time as it slips away because we didn't plan for our day.
When we look for a coupon to use because we didn't file it properly, we find it has "already" expired.
When we go shopping, we are rushed to make a shopping list and aren't as careful in our planning if we didn't plan it out ahead of time. We forget to get things that we needed to buy. We also don't have time to check the store ads to see what is on sale and what we can get for a cheaper price.
If we are in charge of bill-paying, we may forget to send the bills in on time and maybe even forget to balance the checkbook.
If we are disorganized, we don't have a plan for cleaning our homes or teaching our children.
These are only some of the consequences of being disorganized at home. We, as homemakers, have a big responsibility. Don't things run more smoothly when you are organized?
What kinds of things do you do to be organized at home and keep things running smoothly?

Where to Find Good Deals On Clothing and Shoes
As a homemaker you are probably interested in stretching your family's dollar. I certainly am. We have to buy clothes and shoes for ourselves and our family. One thing I did a few years ago is signed up for 6pm.com's daily emails. If you sign up, they will send you an email for their daily sales. It's almost like having somebody stop by your house and show you their wares they have for sale at a discount (except you don't have to acknowledge their presence or be polite if you don't want to that day.) 6pm.com sells clothing and shoes from all different brands, and they sell expensive brand names for very low prices (often 50, 60, or 70% off!) I have gotten a pair of shoes this way. If you go to their clearance tab you will find clothing items for under $10 and shoes for under $25. They sell things for men, women, and children. They also give you free shipping, no matter what the cost of your order. This makes it very convenient to order your items and have them shipped straight to your home for free!
Also, don't forget to check the clearance racks at Walmart. I have been able to find my girls a few dresses very cheaply by checking these--and some very long dresses are in style right now.

Not Our Responsibility
Ladies,
As times get tough, and tougher, I always hear ladies saying how they are worried about the bills getting paid. They wonder how in the world it will get done if their husband loses his job or takes a cut in pay. They look at the numbers and say "It doesn't add up!" (I have been there too.) Then they think they have to do something about it.

Well, they are halfway right. We do need to do something about it. But it is not the solution I see many coming to. The solution is not for the wives and mothers to leave the home and take up the man's job. The solution is not to say, "Okay, honey. I know it is hard to make money right now. Let me go out and make some too." No, as wives and mothers, we play the supporting role to our husbands. We need to say, "Okay, honey. I will be extra careful with expenditures. Let's see what bills we can get rid of. I will adjust our meals to ones that are more budget-friendly. I'll be sure to stay home as much as possible so we aren't using gas unnecessarily."
Men need to work. And when the women go to work for them, they get lazy. They lose the drive to provide for their families because the wives are doing it. Why would he have to work hard if his wife is bringing in an income outside the home? Why, he can even add some more bills to the pile because she's taking up some slack! A husband will most likely not see the seriousness of a financial situation if his wife traipses out to find a job.
As Christian women, we need to follow the commandments set forth by Almighty God, even when times get tough (1 Timothy 5:14). We need to not fret and fear when our husbands have a hard time finding or keeping work. We need to make sure he has clean clothes for work, good meals on the table, and a loving wife who is supportive of his God-given leadership. We also need to remember that God will provide the means for us to fulfill our roles and for our husbands to fulfill theirs.
We have become so accustomed to women getting jobs outside of the home that that is almost the immediate response to a husband losing work, or other financial hardship. But this should not be so. When this happens, it gives us more opportunity to be creative in the home with ways to save money...maybe make something that we once bought. No it is not easy. Good things seldom are! But being in God's will is more important than money. It has to be, or we have made money and financial security an idol.
Doing our husbands' job for them? Not our responsibility. Helping him do his job by supporting him as he does it? Absolutely.
Press on, Ladies!

Here is a tip to sharpen your scissors. (Now I have not tried it yet, but I hear that it works).

Linked to the
Domestically Divine Homemaking Link-Up and the
Raising Homemakers Link-Up.
Hope this helps!
- Get a 12-14 inch strip of heavy-duty aluminum foil.
- Fold it into 8 layers
- Use your dull scissors to cut as many thin strips of foil as you can (preferably 25)
- That's it! You should have sharp scissors

Housewifery Journal~A Free Ebook for Homemakers

Today I wanted to let you know about a free Ebook for homemakers. Housewifery Journal, Wisdom from a Modern Pioneer Homemaker, was written by Mrs. Connie Hultquist, and was originally only available for purchase in paperback form. Now Connie and Mrs. Sharon White from The Legacy of Home have made it available for free on Google books. Connie is a dear Titus 2 mother to me whom I have never met in person, but have spoken with on the phone and have gleaned lots of wisdom from over the years through her online group. She has been there for me during some very hard times in my life. It has been a while since I have read her book, but I can tell you it's full of Connie's writings on homemaking, frugality, marriage, and more.
Connie has quite a miraculous testimony that you can read about here. If you would like to see some of her other writings, you may read them at her website, Happy Housewifery.
You may go here to read her book online (or save it too).
I hope you enjoy this resource,
