New Fall Skirt Arrivals from New Creation Apparel

What a joy and a privilege to dress like a feminine woman!  It's so nice to be able to dress differently than men, don't you think?  Even if you only dress up on the Lord's Day or special occasions, don't you feel differently when you do?  Dressing femininely is a part of encouraging men to act like gentlemen, to treat you like a lady.  But of course this must be accompanied by a feminine manner as well.

Well, I do think it's always nice to get a new skirt for the wardrobe.  Now is a great time to get a new skirt, or two, because New Creation Apparel currently has new skirts in stock for Fall.  If you've never heard of New Creation Apparel, they are a great company, with wonderful customer service, that has a really beautiful selection of modest skirts at affordable prices.  They even have lovely maternity skirts!  They are also one of Blessed Homemaking's advertisers, so please support them!

I will show you some of their new arrivals.  Which one is your favorite?  I really like the Double Cascading Ruffle and the Margot.

“Why do women want to dress like men when they’re fortunate enough to be women? Why lose femininity, which is one of our greatest charms? We get more accomplished by being charming than we would be flaunting around in pants and smoking. I’m very fond of men. I think they are wonderful creatures. I love them dearly. But I don’t want to look like one. When women gave up their long skirts, they made a grave error…”

More Places for Printable Coupons

Hello Dears,

How have you been?  I have been extra, super busy--so that's why there haven't been as many posts.

I wanted to share a couple of places where you can print some coupons that you may not know about.  You probably know about coupons.com, or printing from Swagbucks (which also earns you points!), but there are some others.

You can print coupons for paper towels, toilet paper, feminine products, diapers, and more from http://www.pickupthevalues.com.  You can also print Scott brand coupons from https://www.scottbrand.com.  I know the latter will send you emails every so often with printable coupons, and they don't inundate you with too many emails.

I hope this helps, and enjoy!

New Modest Winter Skirt Arrivals & Where I've Been

Hello Dears,

I hope you all have been well and have been enjoying this wonderful time of year.  We sure have.  I wanted to let you know that New Creation Apparel has many new beautiful, modest skirts that just arrived in time for the holidays!  Here are some examples below:

Double Ruched Dark Gray

Cord Adventure

Ruched Front

There are more pretty skirts available than just these, and also some pretty slips to add an extra layer of modesty and warmth.  My favorites are the Cord Adventure and the Double Ruched Dark Gray. Soon Blessed Homemaking and New Creation Apparel will be partnering to bring you a skirt giveaway, so stay tuned!

Also, I have not blogged much recently because I've been working on this:

I have much more done than this, but I don't want to show more just in case the person this is a gift for reads my blog.  I don't think they do, but you never know.  This is a portrait commission, and you can purchase one from me if you like, here at my Etsy shop.  They make a great gift!

I hope to be back soon.  Love to you all.

Get Money Back from Walmart

I always price match when I shop at Walmart.  The process is long, going through all the store ads for several different stores.  But I find it is well worth it.  The people in line behind me usually seem surprised when I tell the cashier a lower price for many of our items.  (And sometimes, they might not like to wait for all the price-matching).  A homemaker must save where she can.

I just learned of a new way to save at Walmart, and it is called Savings Catcher.  Walmart will give you back money on a reward card if you purchased something at Walmart that was available for a lower price at a different store.  You simply go here, enter a couple of pieces of information from your receipt, and you'll find out if you get any money back.  The receipts need to be from the last 7 days, and you can enter a maximum of 7 receipts per week.

I hope this tip helps you a lot!

How to Save Money on Groceries (No Coupons Required)

If you've been following my blog for awhile, you probably know that I like to feed my family healthfully.  I feel like eating foods that were made by God and not in a laboratory are what will give us the best health in life and make us best able to serve Him.  But this can get expensive!  Especially with the price of food going up, it gets harder a
nd harder to stay within budget.  Even if you don't have any certain diet restrictions when you're shopping, I imagine it can be hard to not spend too much money.

That's why I am SO excited to learn about Grocery Savings Made Simple.  It is a course that is going to be starting on September 2, 2014.  This is the only time this year the course will be available, and it runs for four weeks.  Here is a little bit about this course from the mom who created it, Shannon Brown:
  • It guides moms through setting up a sustainable grocery savings system that works for their unique families' nutrition needs, including real food, gluten free, etc.
  • Requires no coupons, store circulars, or weekly meal planning, so it continues working even during the busiest seasons of life.
  • This is the system I have personally used to save thousands on my grocery budget even during the most difficult year of my life, so I know it works!
Those points are just amazing to me!  No coupons, store circulars, or meal planning needed?  And it works for real food?  I am definitely interested.  The way I currently shop requires those four things (though there aren't many coupons for real food).  I am excited to learn how to save money even without those things.

Here is the best news.  From now until August 26, 2014, this course is on sale.  It normally costs $37, but the sale price is...Pay What You Can.  Yes, you read that right.  So I am definitely signing up and wanted to share with you, as I thought it might help you.  You can go here to read more about Grocery Savings Made Simple and/or register.  While the sale price lasts until 8/26, registration for this year's course will not close until 8/31.

I hope this course is a blessing to you.

Tip to Save Money on Amazon

Ludlow Market

I was just alerted to a site where you can track the price history of any given product on Amazon before you checkout.  Apparently Amazon prices can fluctuate as many as nine times a day on some days.  The website is The Tracktor.  When you go to the site, you can obtain a price history of a product on Amazon by entering a product name, ASIN, or Amazon URL and click GO.  It seems like a really helpful tool.

Consequences of Disorganization

Little Girl, Pram, Neat House

If we are disorganized as homemakers, all kinds of things can happen...

With no schedule or routine, we do not accomplish as much during the day--we lose the time as it slips away because we didn't plan for our day.

When we look for a coupon to use because we didn't file it properly, we find it has "already" expired.

When we go shopping, we are rushed to make a shopping list and aren't as careful in our planning if we didn't plan it out ahead of time.  We forget to get things that we needed to buy.  We also don't have time to check the store ads to see what is on sale and what we can get for a cheaper price.

If we are in charge of bill-paying, we may forget to send the bills in on time and maybe even forget to balance the checkbook.

If we are disorganized, we don't have a plan for cleaning our homes or teaching our children.

These are only some of the consequences of being disorganized at home.  We, as homemakers, have a big responsibility.  Don't things run more smoothly when you are organized?

What kinds of things do you do to be organized at home and keep things running smoothly?

Something You Won't Want to Miss!

Are you one of the many with children (or yourself) on an allergy-friendly special diet? Or maybe you are interested in green living and sustainability.  Maybe you have special health concerns or are interested in natural skincare.  Or, perhaps you just want what any good momma wants--to have healthy kids and babies, to keep things healthy in the kitchen, or to learn more about menu planning and meal prep.  Do you have an interest in fitness
or leading a healthy lifestyle?  Are you wanting to learn about real whole foods?

If you have an interest in one or many of these things, then read on because there is something going on this week that you don't want to miss.

I am a mother of many children and take great interest in learning how to do my job better.  If they have health needs, I seek ways to address them.  If our kitchen is not functioning as well as it should, I look for ways to improve it.  If I learn that we are having a reaction to products we use in our home or put on our skin, I search out natural alternatives or make my own.  I just see this as part of my job of taking care of my family.  Now, the team behind Ultimate Bundles has put together a wonderful, huge, bundle of resources to help thinking, researching moms like you and me.  This bundle is not just ebooks either, but a real, mentoring experience.

Providing you with fabulously useful eBook resources is what we, the team behind Ultimate Bundles, are all about. This year we decided to throw caution to the wind and make the package more of a no-brainer than ever before.

What's in the Bundle?

Get Educated

We took 86 eBooks (plus 1 eCourse) by popular bloggers on topics like real food & recipes, green living, natural cleaning and beauty, mental and emotional health, fitness, herbal remedies and more.

 Get Mentored

Then we added the brand new "Coffee Table Conversations," a 12-week series of author mentorship through interactive online conference calls and private support groups.

 Get Equipped

We finished it off with 9 bonus sponsors offering you $150+ of incredible products and services to help you along your way. This includes bonuses like $25.98 of FREE eco-friendly laundry detergent from Dizolve (because we all need clean clothes). This bonus nearly makes up for the entire cost of the bundle!

How Much Does the Bundle Cost?

Ultimate: Maximum; decisive; conclusive. The best or most extreme of its kind.
We wouldn't call it the "ultimate" bundle if it wasn't true. As our hard-working team pulled together the Ultimate Healthy Living 2013 Bundle Sale, we had 3 basic goals: to put a comprehensive health library at your fingertips, to offer something for everyone, and to provide so much value for an itty-bitty price that it would be irresistible. In a nutshell? This bundle is brimming with more than 80 ebook and ecourse resources, from authors and bloggers known as authorities in their fields. For less than $30, you can pick up your own bundle complete with more than $800 of ebooks, $67 of interactive "coffee table conversations" with their authors, and $158 of products and services to help you on your way toward healthier living. That's over a $1,000 value!

But you don't want to wait! This bundle is available for only 6 days, from 8 a.m. (EST) on Monday, November 4th to 11:59pm (EST) on Saturday, November 9th.
