Happy Mother's Day 2020

Dear Christian Mothers,

I hope you may have a blessed Mother's Day. How sweet that someone some time ago came up with a day to honor their dear mother. The Proverbs 31 woman's children arose and called her blessed, and so did her husband.

I wanted to share something with you below that I came across the other day. I know we are not truly angels, for we need our dear Saviour Jesus to save us from our sins. But the below little article had me in tears--it was a reminder for me of the great duty the Lord gives us when He gives us a new child--OH! What a blessing! It is such an amazing blessing--a great duty and a privilege. Every day we should be asking the Lord for His help to be a sweet and wise mother for our children, and every day we should be thankful for this great privilege and gift to be called "Mother".
~*~NEWBORN'S CONVERSATION WITH GOD~*~

A baby asked God, "They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow,
but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?"

God said, "Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you."

The child further inquired, "But tell me, here in heaven I don't have
to do anything but sing and smile to be happy."

God said, "Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you.
and you will feel your angel's love and be very happy."

Again the small child asked, "And how am I going to be able to understand
when people talk to me if I don't know the language?"

God said, "Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words
you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will
teach you how to speak."

"And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?"

God said, "Your angel will place your hands together and will teach
you how to pray."

"Who will protect me?"

God said, "Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life."

"But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore."

God said, "Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach
you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you."

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth
could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, "God, if I am to leave
now, please tell me my angel's name."

God said, You will simply call her, "Mom."

Women are Blessed at Home

Home is a wonderful respite from the world.  It's a place to rest, to relax, to feel at peace.  It's a place to feel safe and sheltered from the world.  It's a place to make as close to Heaven as possible.

What a beautiful occupation the Lord has given us.  What a holy calling, to make our homes a bit like Heaven on earth.  What a joy to wake up every day and minister to our husbands and children here in the safety and security of home.

How the Lord cares for us in telling us to "be keepers at home" and to "guide the house".  We have a special calling that a man cannot and does not have!  It is to us women, and us only, that the Lord gave this task.

I feel so blessed to be able to be at home, taking care of it and all the occupants here.  Each day brings its new challenges, and sometimes surprises, but how wonderful when we can start our days in thanksgiving to God that we have a home here on this earth, and to ask the Lord for His help with the day ahead as we serve Him as we serve our families.

We can bless our families by making home a peaceful place.  We can play lovely music, read God's Word, have a pleasant and lovely voice and demeanor.  We can speak with kindness and smile at our husbands and children.  We can make our homes lovely with decor and keep them clean and tidy.  We can cook lovely meals for our families that also nourish their bodies.  We can train our children up in the ways of the Lord, teaching them to love Him with their whole hearts.  We can be a loving support to our husbands, giving them our appreciation and admiration, and of course taking care of the things at home is a great relief to them!

What a wonderful job we have, that we don't have to go out to work to bring home the living, nor do we have to deal with co-workers, time clocks, nor bosses.  We are very blessed, indeed, ladies.  Let us wake up with these thoughts in our minds every day!

Immanuel's Land

http://www.shareasale.com/r.cfm?u=252256&b=645857&m=55240&afftrack=&urllink=fineart%2Eartworkonly%2Ecom%2Fthe%2Dprayer%2Ehtml

What can be more delightful for the weary pilgrim who is hastening to his heavenly mansion, than to meditate on the unspeakable wonders of his future home beyond the skies? There is much of Immanuel's Land to engage our hearts in sacred contemplation, even while we sojourn and toil in this world as strangers and pilgrims.

Heaven is the most cheering and attractive occupation to which we may set our hearts. Yet I wonder why many of us fail to avail ourselves of the enjoyment and spiritual strength afforded in such a holy pursuit.

Could it be that the allurements of the world keep us from recognizing how near we are to the unseen, supernatural, and eternal state? Instead of dwelling on the glorious world to come--do we focus on the mere momentary pleasures of time? We do well to examine ourselves, with judgment day honesty, that we may check the affections of our heart.

It is the influence of the future heavenly realities exercised in our hearts and lives, which gives vitality and beauty to our religion. It reveals genuine piety, as our aim is in contrast to the passing pleasures of this fleeting earth. It affords light along the path of life's dark trials, and points to the realms of bliss, where there shall be no more tears, and sorrow is banished forevermore!

The glorious rest that remains for our earth wearied souls;
the sweet consolation of the redeemed in glory;
the unending fellowship of that precious society of saints;
the incalculable riches laid up in store for us to receive on that glorious day
--are all facets of Immanuel's Land, that we might set an adoring eye towards the one object of our affections, Christ Jesus our Lord!

Let us, therefore, 'set our affections on things above' and fix our hearts steadfastly upon the heavenly joys and glory of Immanuel's Land!

The Christian's Home

Heavenly Blessings
Heavenly...

In his best hours, home, his own sinless home--a home with his Father above that starry sky--will be the wish of every Christian man.  He looks around him--the world is full of suffering.  He is distressed by its sorrows, and vexed by its sins.  He looks within him and he finds much in his own corruptions to grieve him.  In the language of a heart repelled, grieved, vexed, he often turns his eye upward! saying, "I would not live always."  No, not for all the gold of the world's mines, not for all the pearls of the seas, not for all the pleasures of her flashing, frothy cup, not for all the crowns of her kingdoms--would I live here always.  Like a bird about to migrate to kingdoms--would I live here always.  Like a bird about to migrate to those sunny lands where no winter sheds her snows, or strips the grove, or binds the dancing streams, he will often in spirit be pruning his wing for the hour of his flight to glory."
~Thomas Guthrie

Oh, how glorious will our heavenly home be!  There will be no fear of thieves, destruction, or sin.  How wonderful and praiseworthy!  How often do you think of your heavenly home?  Won't it be so lovely there singing praises to our glorious and majestic God?

I just had to share this quote with you today.  I pray it gets your thoughts stirred about our future home--heaven.  We never know when He will take us home.  May we live each day as if it is our last and keep our eyes fixed on our heavenly home.
