The Effects of Telling the Truth

Many times, when we share a truth with someone, people will not listen.  Their hearts may be hardened against hearing a word from the Lord, or they may be preoccupied with other things in their lives.   They may not care for the things of God, and be totally against Him.  I have found to be true in my own life, that many times, we will actually be hated.  We may lose friends, and even family members because we choose to follow the way we believe God is leading us.  Even if it is completely backed up by God's very own Word.

John 15:20  Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

Today I had a lovely visit from a friend.  This friend is about my age and has 5 dear children, while I have six.  She just gave birth to their newest addition a couple of months ago.  This new baby is very special.  You see, he almost was not born, almost not even conceived.

A couple in this day and age always begins to wonder about what they should "do" about those little babies that keep coming if something is not "done" about them.  Before we had our sixth child, I had come upon an audio presentation of a book.  I listened intently and had my heart changed.

Some weeks passed by and the subject of "birth control" came up with this dear friend when we were talking.  I mentioned the audio we had listened to and sent her the link.  I had also been posting a lot of quotes on Facebook from a book I was reading, a book that has changed many lives of many families.  A book that is also hated by many.  My friend found the quotes interesting and convicting and ordered a book for herself.

My friend's and her husband's hearts were changed too. Soon they were expecting their fifth burden blessing.

My dear friend shared what she had learned with her sister.  She and her husband are now expecting another baby.  This same friend ordered several books for many people she knows.  She gave one book to the pastor's wife at her church.  After reading the book, the pastor's wife realized she had been deceived for many years.  The pastor's wife called a meeting for the women in the church.  She told them what she now knew.  Many of the women wept for the children they had rejected, for the children they had never known.  They wept because they had not chosen to stay home and train up their children but had followed after a career to "be somebody".

These women were open to the truth.  These women's hearts were not cold towards the Lord and His Truth.

Yes, sometimes when we share the truth, people will not agree with us, or they may even hate us.  But sometimes, people will listen.  Sometimes they will take that truth and run with it.  Spread it like wild fire.  And the world will have blessings they never would have had, because we shared the truth.

I was so happy to hear this today.   I wept for joy!

Matthew 5:10  Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

The audio I mentioned is of the book The Bible and Birth Control
by Charles Provan.  You may listen to it for free here.  There are five parts to the audio.  Of course you may also order the book.  The book I mentioned my friend giving to many others is The Way Home: Beyond Feminism, Back to Reality
by Mary Pride.

If you never share the truth, you will never know what blessings it may bring.

  3. Mrs. Q,

I have read the book by Mary Pride about a year ago, and her words gave me much to reflect upon. I will think about getting the book of the first author at another time. It sounds like a good one to read.

By the way, this was an excellent post in regards to truth. It has definately touched my heart.

    Blessings,

  5. So interesting...we did not read or listen to this book...but had a heart change. I had my tubes tied, realized it was a mistake...but had to live with it. During this time, God brought us 5 children to adopt...then he brought us $13,000 to have the tubal reversed!! We plan on letting God control our "birth control"...He opens and closes the womb! Great post!

  6. The subject of telling people the truth and the rejection you may encounter is near to my heart.

God has called me to write a blog on this very subject.
Some we will reach, and some will reject
His truth. You have encouraged me, with the story of the Pastor's wife.
I have only had encounters with the negative, when I left comments on other blogs.

I hope one day that I'll be able to tell a story, similar to the one, of the Pastor's wife.
Thank you, this was such a blessing.

  9. Mrs. Q, this is so true. I was recently given the audio tapes "The Baby Conference." I also read be fruitful and multiply by Nancy Campbell some years ago, which left me stunned at the stark reality of how I have treated my womb.

Thanks for sharing this post. I'm rejoicing with you and your friends.

  11. Debbie~ May God grant you many more grandchildren.

Lady Rose~ You are a dear, thanks. Did you catch that you can listen to that book for free online (you don't have to purchase it)?

Trish~ thank you. It is always nice to see the effects of our faith on this side of Heaven.

Kim~ that is wonderful, and amazing!

Gerie~ I am glad it was an encouragement to you. Most often we don't know the effects of all we have done when we are still here in this world.

    Tami~ I know :)

Mrs. Rabe~ Hi! Nice to meet you.

Mrs. Stam~it is so sad, isn't it?

Jasmine~ I have heard those tapes are very good. I read that book several years ago. This subject has always been on my heart, ever since I became a Christian and got married. I had given up on my husband and had laid it at the Lord's feet though. That is when I came upon this audio. I think it is a constant spiritual battle when we have all that the world tries to feed us in regards to this matter.

Covnitkepr1~ nice to meet you and thank you for your follow. I will go look at your blog.
