Little Gifts from Children

This morning I went back to sleep for a little bit after my husband left for work. I had been up since a little before 5 a.m. with the baby & then had to cook Husband's breakfast & get his lunch ready for him before he left, & I wouldn't have made it through the day without a little more rest. When I awoke from my rest I was disappointed to find 3 of the 4 girls who share a room, playing. The rule for them is that they must remain in bed & be quiet until I get them up. But how pleased I was to find that our oldest was laying in her bed quietly, waiting for me (she is 8)! Quite some time ago, my mother-in-law had given me a bag with little gifts in it, like bubbles, notepads, & some other things for me to give to the children at will. I called my 8 year old into our room, hugged her & praised her for her obedience. I then told her that she may pick something from the little bag of gifts. She dug to the bottom & selected this little squishy toy snail, smiled, & told me how it was squishy so she wanted it :)

Sita The Snail

After I had prepared breakfast, she came up to me with a note she had written, thanking me for giving her the snail, along with a picture she had drawn of her & her snail. It was adorable! She also drew me a picture, comic-strip style, of a story of how she & her daddy felt our youngest baby moving in my tummy before she was born. What a sweet child! It is so nice to be blessed with these moments.

If I have time later, I will post pictures of the sweet note & picture she made me.

Be blessed.
