There was singing and then a teaching on Christ's sacrifice for us. My little children had to go to the bathroom during the service, but everyone was well-behaved. Then prayer requests were taken and prayed over. After the service we stayed to eat with everyone and had pizza, pasta, and bread. The food was delicious, but my favorite part of the meal was the little boys who sat across from us. One was 10, one was 6, and I forget the age of the other one. They were some of the children of the family who owns the house. They have 10 children. The boys engaged in polite conversation with the children and I, waiting to speak so as to not interrupt, and telling us amazing stories about their chickens, cats, and dog! They explained that one kitten had escaped from the house. They had put up fliers trying to find her but now assumed that coyotes had gotten to her. They also informed me that the cat they have was not allowed to be around children because she was mean (this explanation was complete with hissing cat noises, mean cat faces, and a show of "claws"). Haha! I loved it.
We had such a blessed time, especially because these people are homeschoolers, believe that children are a blessing, and believe that women should be keepers at home (along with many other important Biblical things). It is so good to get together with like-minded believers.
Many blessings to you.
It's crazy how much we have in common, we too meet with a few families not in a church building but At our local farmers market kitchen room, it's small and we are praying that we could have a building soon, but for now it's nice and cozy :-)
ReplyDeleteMrs. Q,
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a lovely time! It is truly a blessing to get together with like-minded believers!

P.S. I made a comment for one of your prior posts, but it didn't go through. Did you get it?
Mrs. Stam--I like how it is "nice and cozy" too :)
ReplyDeleteShelly--we did! So fun!
Lady Rose--it was such a blessing and sorry about your other comment--I was behind with comments but it is posted now.
It is hard for me to find people of like-mind that are not online. I only have my sister-in-law and brother, in OR...Maybe one day that will change for me.
ReplyDeleteWishing you and yours a beautiful Easter weekend. :)
In His love,
Mrs. A
