Life in Sorrowful Times

Silent Sorrow

I have often wondered, how many women I know are hurting...suffering.  I have known several women online who have been through immeasurably hard things in their lives.  Some of these hurts are known to others, but some are hidden...kept in the dark...and this is why I wonder...how many are hurting?  How many have unkind husbands (or more than unkind), how many have husbands that claim Christ but don't look anything like Christ?  How many have straying, swaying children...memories of sweet little baby snuggles, but reality of child-turned-down-the-wrong-path life of heartache.

How many, left in tears and pools of weeping? Sorrow silent, and put away?

There is one thing, only one thing that is consistent in life.  One thing we may always rely on.  When husbands are not Knights in Shining Armor, when children are lost down the wrong path, when life goes wrong, is unreliable, is hard...when life is sorrowful...

There is Jesus...

Always Jesus...

For those that have been saved by grace through faith, there is always our salvation.

God never changes.  We can always rely upon Him.  We can know that He is right there with us in our godly sorrow.  He is the "God of all comfort" (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).

We can always look to the gifts God has given us.  Yes, there are always gifts.  Each breath of life we have is a gift.  Oh, and little sweet things like flowers, are precious reminders of God's love.  Even here in the desert I can find them blooming along the sandy ground...

Each day has God's blessings upon it...look for them...

Let's do our duties and look for God's blessings, and praise Him for His goodness.

If you are going through hardship, please know that you are not alone.  God sees our tears even when they are hidden...The Father loves His own.  One day we will see Him face to face and He will wipe away all our tears.

Love to you.

  3. Were it not for Jesus and the comfort He gives, I do not know how I would have made it this far. Life was nothing but endless sorrow from past abuse and losss but now with Jesus, He has turned that to good to use to comfort and help others!

  4. This is so true, and so many are really hurting, very good post, and God bless you dear, God is always there to wipe our tears away, I used to sing a song called For Those Tears I Died, it was very powerful and shows us the love our heavenly Father has for us. He bottles our tears you know.. Hugs Barbara

  5. Without YHVH and his promises and hope in him, striving for his eternal hope, I would not have made it all of these years as a wife and a mother.
He truly blesses his people and keeps them when they strive to walk in his ways and the ways of his only begotten son and to teach them to their children.

    Shalom!

  6. Such an excellent post. So many wives and mothers are hurting, and sadly, many churches do not want to hear about it..."How are you?" is simply a rhetorical question to move on from one person to the other without really touching them. I have been there, and know that pain. Tami...A grief shared is a grief halved....If it is any consolation at all, the details of my grief were ugly and hard...but as hard as that may be to bear...there are people who NEED to know they are not alone in their own versions of it...I would second the encouragement to share. The Enemy LOVES to keep us in isolation ("oh, they will never understand", "Oh, what will people think?", "It is too embarrassing", etc). Those are all lies...we overcome by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony...and what you are not sharing, dear, is your testimony.

Please prayerfully reconsider. When I did, SOOO many women came out and admitted to far worse than I had been going through...and they were free from Satan's bondage to someone else's sin and the isolation that keeps us from genuine fellowship with the Brethren.

I will be praying for you, dear one. Remember, we have a Kinsman Redeemer....and you are His Bride....<3

Mrs. Q...may I share this post on my blog? I feel that there are many women who needed to read it just as much as I did...and if not...thank you, just the same, for posting it! God bless your heart as you help disciple women in the blessed pursuit of godly womanhood. <3
