The Truth About Tattoos and Piercings

Are tattoos and multiple piercings for the Christian?  Is there a specific Bible passage that forbids these practices?  This video is very informative and helpful with this subject as it pertains to Christians.

  1. I agree with the points he makes- they are certainly valid, especially when talking about piercings and having many visible tattoos. For my family, my husband has a tattoo that is hidden and it is tasteful and simple. I personally like it and don't mind if one of my boys were to get one as long as it were hidden, tasteful and something they had thought on for at least a year. For women, though, I don't think tats are appropriate. I never got one and I definitely don't want my daughter to have one! Same goes for extra piercings...and most definitely no piercings at all on the boys!

  2. What a wonderful presentation of this topic! This pastor is right on, gentle in speech, and lovely to watch and listen to-but the best aspect is the Truth!

I don't know how I escaped getting a tattoo, as I was a teen in a time when most everyone I knew got them. I was not living with the Christian understanding or influence I have now, though I was saved when I was young, so it was written in my heart. I think the only reason is because even back then I thought they were really trashy looking for women especially!

My husband has none, either. He and I often remark that we are the only two people around who don't have tattoos..it's really strange.

I did have my ears pierced on the lobe, 3 in a row. I now wear a tiny gemstone in each piercing, as it looks better to me than holes..I regret it, explained my error to my children, and would not do it if I had the chance again!

    God Bless!

    1. How wonderful you were able to escape that! I wonder if your ear piercings would just close up over time? I know when I have not worn earrings for some time, it gets really hard to put an earring in, like they were starting to close up.

  4. How interesting. I wouldn't get a tattoo for two reasons, one pain (I am a wimp) and because I know what my mother would say (even though I am far too old to be scolded - I know she would be very sad as she believes that they are sinful and worldly)!!

  5. This video was wonderfully presented and informative. I personally have no tattoos and will never have any. My Husband, on the other hand, has 7. They were all done while he was still in the Marines, and are easily hidden. You could never see them with his day-to-day attire or work attire. They each tell a story or represent a memory for him and are very nicely done!

  6. This was a very interesting video. We recently had a "Christian Tatoo Shop" open up in my city. I wasn't sure how I felt about that because I've heard conflicting information about tatooing and the Bible. This video was very thorough and informative. Thanks!
