An Excellent Free Book for Parents

Illustration of a Mother and Infant

I love to read old books by Christian authors and have found several gems from the 1800s.  One that truly blesses and is full of wisdom is Duties of Parents by J.C. Ryle.  Written in 1888, it is straight forward, biblical, and practical.  J.C. Ryle encourages parents to simply teach the Word and to train their children in the way that they should go.  The outcome is not ours to decide.  "The path of obedience is the way in which He gives His blessing.  We have only to do as the servants were commanded at the marriage feast in Cana, to fill the water-pots with water, and safely leave it to the Lord to turn that water into wine."

This book is not very long, but I like to keep it handy for easy reference.  You may read and/or download your free copy here, or if you prefer to have a hard copy like me, you can order one here very inexpensively.
