A Heart of Thankfulness
This is a goal I have for myself--I want to focus on being thankful for what the Lord has given me. If we can focus on what the Lord has given us, it will bring much more joy to our lives. If we are always searching for something to be wrong, we will surely find it. If we are looking for faults in our children, we will definitely find them! Instead of focusing on their faults, we should be sure to look for their good traits and encourage our children in them. There is nothing wrong with giving encouragement in areas they are doing well in.
Some things I am thankful for today...
The beautiful children I wake up to every day. Yes, some days are hard, but where would I be without them? They bring such joy to my life! I am blessed to be a mama.
We have a house to live in. It may not be the fanciest, nicest house, but it is ours. We are cozy in our little home we have together. It is our own space.
We are provided for. Every month is a struggle. But still the Lord always makes a way for us to have our needs met. I am so thankful.
These are just a few of the things I am thankful for. I could go on and hope to do so when I am tempted to complain and focus on our lack instead of what we've been given. There are things that I'd like and feel we really need in life, but it is up to the Lord to provide them if He sees fit. Our God is a good and gracious God, and He loves His children.
What things are you thankful for? What helps you to get your focus off of your troubles?
