Great video, Mrs. Q! I stopped wearing bikinis (yes, I used to wear them when I was a teen!) even before I became a Christian. I felt that I wasn't respecting myself as a woman when I dressed immodestly. Now, I would oppose bikini-wearing for many other biblical reasons, but it's interesting that even before coming to Christ I saw that it wasn't a good idea. Thanks for sharing!
I REFUSE to wear any type of bathing suit in the public. Of course, I used to when I was naive and unaware of the importance of modesty. I am so thankful that the Lord has shown me the importance of being modest in my dress.
Thank you for posting! I have a daughter that I am trying to raise more modestly than I was and I am going to keep this video in mind to send to some people that think I'm overprotective by not letting her wear a bikini!
This is a good clip Emily! What Jason is saying here is true. I've never understood how a bikini can be thought of as different to underwear. "If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck.." etc etc.. The brainwave study sounds very interesting in how it backs up what we all really knew to be true anyway! The Everts are doing important work amongst the youth by teaching about modesty and purity. God bless them! Trish
I'm not very keen on swimming in public any way, but as Trish says above about the duck, yes bikinis are the same as under wear.
There has been a trend where I live to wear black tights with a sweater and treat the tights as you would pants. To me this is the same as me wearing stockings all day with a top, once again very immodest and ugly. It doesn't make any sense :)
Thank you for sharing this great video! A great piece of advice he gave: if you have to ask...you've already answered your own quesion.
Growing up, my father taught me that boys/men think: If I can see it, I can touch it. It was a practical way to teach modesty & I've never forgotten it.
You are welcome, ladies. I do not go swimming in public anymore, and do not understand long-time Christian women who still refuse to listen to the commandment to wear modest apparel. They cause many to stumble into sin.

I did too, Joy. It is just amazing and sad the additional damage that's being done to our men, though. May we all come to our senses!

ReplyDeleteThis video is excellent. I wish more men and women would see it. I am going to do some research on that study... How interesting!
